Titans Vs United Sports(20/20)

Chuck – 4. Got us off to a decent start with the top score.

Prateek – 4. Also involved in the opening partnership of 22 runs. Took a good catch off a rising ball from Wazza in the first over. Had a stumping turned down that was clearly out.

Wazza – 4. Out early to a good ball when the team needed him to buckle down and score runs. Bowled well and got a wicket early on.

Rakesh – 3. Out early as part of the middle order collapse.

Dalip – 3. A huge six but out next ball.

Tanmay – 4. Bowled well with no reward. Lively in the field.

Atif – 4. Good bowling with no reward. Made the left handers play and miss on many occasions.

Bala – 3. Out early to a good yorker. One or two good throws from the deep.

Umair – 3. Survived out in the middle batting for a decent amount of time but no runs flowed.

Jacob – 4. Showed us his potential to hit the ball hard. Not the best technique though in getting run out.

Akhil – 5. Brave in the face of the pace bowlers. Took his first wicket and showed his potential as a legbreak bowler, something that all teams want.

Extras – 1. Not enough of a contribution to help the Titans out of trouble.

Titans Vs India United (20/20)

Chuck – 6. A stunning return catch off his spin bowling, and a decent spell it was coupled with some good fielding. Not himself when batting which lead to an early demise.

Dalip – 2. Not his best in the field. Out first ball has to sting too – got caught playing across the line to a rising ball.

Prateek – 6. Must have been a frustrating day for him considering the fielding that went on from the Titans. Solid behind the stumps with a sweet catch and some nice stumpings. Got bowled to a low ball.

Rakesh – 6. Some economical bowling. Also batted fairly well and kept the bowlers at bay for a while. Work on that back foot and runs will flow like the salmon of Capistrano.

Tanmay – 6. Wicket first ball and some decent economical bowling to follow that. Dropped a really hard return catch. Good throws from the boundary. Not in the runs.

Warren – 7 ½ . Wasn’t getting anything going with the bowling and dropped a catch too. Made 53 runs though, although the bowling wasn’t exactly from Glen McGrath or Shane Warne.

Atif – 5. In the wickets with some decent bowling. But dropped a catch again and had another go over his head.

Dave – 5. Not his best fielding performance but did take a smart running catch. A bit out of sorts with the bat but hung around long enough with Wazza in a decent partnership.

Bala – 4. An introduction to the bowling side of things. Shows promise with the ball, just needs to work on his technique. Battled with the bat even though the bowling was mediocre.

Dilshan – 4. Quite decent in the field throwing his body around, must be commended for this effort. Got the technique to defend well in batting but needs to play some shots and get some runs.

Akhil – 6. Nice fielding son! Solid in the field whilst others faltered. Played a nice shot too when batting.

Extras – 7. Once again a strong performer for the Titans. We are thankful for having this player on our side.

Titans Vs Ambassador S C (20/20)

Chuck – 7.
Top scored with 29 runs but could have gone on further. Unsuccessful with the ball but economical nonetheless, remembering that he bowled spin after bowling pace the past few practices and games. Good ground fielding.

Dalip – 2.
Not the best day for Dalip. Out early in his favored format of the game. Dropped a catch in the deep too, a catch that proved costly. Could’ve gone for another potential catch off Wazza as well. Good throwing from the deep though.

Alan – 7.
Good bowling from Shrek. A good catch at square leg too. Got run out in a suicide attempt for a single.

Rakesh – 6.
Was looking good during his 11 runs but could’ve gone on. Took a screamer of a catch at slip. Will be remembered for a while yet.

Atif – 7 ½.
Not much with the bat but did take 4 wickets in a very good spell including a maiden. But did drop 2 catches, one of them was over the shoulders and difficult.

Dave – 4.
Went out early to a deceptive spin bowler. If he gets his eye in early on he will be very effective in this form of the game.

Prateek – 4.
Out early trying to force things along. Good call to bring spinners on early. Also, was responsible for first wicket (run out) which started opposition slide.

Warren – 6.
Got 11 runs but was involved in 3 run outs which cut our innings short. Bowling was cheap and included a wicket.

Bala – 6.
Looked decent with the bat, but ran himself out when he and Warren could’ve batted the innings out. Good fielding and has a decent arm.

Jacob – 5.
Hits the ball hard has a keen eye for the ball. Was run out by a bad call from Warren. Decent fielding at deep mid off.

Dilshan – 5.
Was run out in the dying end of the innings. Good ground fielding though.

Extra’s – 8.
Second only to Chuck’s 29 runs. A consistent performer for the Titans. Seems to find us runs where runs don’t seem to be.

Titans Vs Lauderhill United

Chucky - 7.5
Had a good knock of 42 runs and got out completely against the run of the play. Played some nice strokes on both sides of the wickets. Fielding was as good as ever, took a tricky stumping chance on the first ball he took over the gloves. Game would have looked different had he carried on.

Dalip - 2
One ball six, next ball out. The short of a length ball seems to be troubling him. His fielding was slow in parts and could have stopped a couple of boundaries.

Prateek - 8
Got some batting form back with 32 runs and then misjudged the length of a delivery when looking completely set. Started the fall of wickets by stumping the opening batsman. Took a high catch off of Tanmay's bowling after that. Picked up a wicket the first ball he bowled. Needed to carry on with the bat to make a game of it.

Rakesh - 2
Tried one stroke too many to get out for 11 runs. Dropped an early but tough chance at gully and took one later in the game. He seems to be working on his fielding, and there is definitely room for improvement there.

Atif - 1
Got bowled for 1 run when consolidation was needed. Atif was also pretty ineffective with the ball and was not able to step up his game when it was needed. His fielding is getting better, but is still slow enough to give up a double when the opposition expects a single.

Tanmay - 7
Failed with the bat, but came back really strong with the ball. Except for a bad last over there was no respite for he batsmen during his spell. Took three top order wickets to give the team a chance in the game. His intensity in the field was high as usual.

Alan - 3
Not much came from his bat as he was not able to do a repeat of last week. Did not get a chance with the ball. Alan was slow to get down to the ball a couple of times, although his speed in the field might be hard to improve, his form while fielding can definitely be made more effective.

Paul - 1
Nothing with the bat as he got out to a horrid stroke away from the body. Started off proceedings with the ball in an ineffective fashion. His fielding should be an example to others in the team that are out of shape as his effort makes up for it.

Warren - 6
Got bowled for a duck and needs to work on playing spinners. His bowling was fiery, but failed to get wickets. Bowled with a lot of heart and was unlucky on a couple of occasions with a couple of very close shouts. A very good bowling effort that went unrewarded.

Dave - 4
Was not out on 2 at the end of the innings. Showed some decent work in the field. He is going to be an asset going forward as his infield fielding is getting quicker.

Coach - 2
Stuck around with the bat for a little bit and then got out trying to hit over the infield. Bowled one over that was largely ineffective. His fielding is probably better than a couple of much younger guys out on the field.

Titans Vs Leewards

Chucky - 4.5
Got a good start and was looking set for a big score when he hit one straight to cover point. He is one batsman definitely expected to carry on after reaching the 20s. His fielding was sharp as usual.

Dalip - 6.5
Made 36 out of his 44 runs in boundaries. Was well set when he was runout (controversially). Made full use of the slow pitch, waited on the short ones and went down the track to the full ones. Could have made it two 50s in a row, but missed out. His fielding did not have much to write about.

Prateek - 5.5
Bad start to the day, getting out playing away from the body for 3 runs. The day turned much better in the field. Started the collapse for the opposition with some quick work to get the runout. Followed that up with two stumpings off of Coach's bowling. Needs to step up his batting like the rest of the batsmen in the top order.

Rakesh - 5
30 well made runs, but then gave it away when a big score was his for the taking. His fielding was a touch disappointing, seemed to have lost concentration multiple times while fielding, especially after the rain break. There were also a couple of skiers, that he could probably have gotten to and taken.

Atif - 9
Highest scorer on the day. A well paced and stroke filled 73, including 3 big sixes. The lefty looked confident in his strokes but was shaky with his running, hence there is room for improvement. There was more to come as he wrapped up the tail with 2-0-9-3 spell. Kept it much simpler this week as compared to last Sunday and that paid off. Great job.

Alan - 7
Was sent in to keep the high tempo of the scoring going after Dalip fell. Started off perfectly with a 4 and went on to make 34 runs at good pace. Bowled just one over for 6 runs before making way for the spinners. Dropped a simple high chance due to a dip in focus, but held on to another chance later.

Tanmay - 7
Made 21 runs to steady the innings after a couple of quick wickets, without letting the pace drop. Continued his great form with the ball to finish with the figures of 7-1-18-1. Very Miserly indeed. Was his aggressive self int he field and deterred the batsmen from taking quick singles or attempting to convert singles into doubles.

Paul - 6
Got 17 runs with singles and doubles to help carry the innings on. Bowled very well despite the groin injury to end with 3 an over economy rate. Also took a high chance at deep mid on with minimum fuss to get Coach his 3rd wicket.

Warren - 3
Not a great outing for Wazza. Made eight runs, including an incredible straight drive for 4. His bowling was off today, primarily as his approach to the crease was hindered by the depression just behind the wicket. went at over 6 an over, but picked up the important wicket of Trevor.

Yasir - 1
Terrible outing, but will have a chance to redeem himself next game. Got runout after skying the ball and surviving the drop catch. Bowling left a lot to be desired, 23 runs in 2 overs are not magical figures by far. Seemed out of match practice, but hopefully will bring better results next game.

Coach - 8
Ended the innings not out. Bowled an excellent spell of spin bowling to break the back of the middle order. Got 3 wickets of numbers 4,5 and 6 including Yankee the opposing captain. Bowled a good variety, fooling batsmen with both flight and turn. A good spell of spin bowling that was a joy to watch.

Titans Vs Ambassadors

Chucky - 6.5
Decent in the field, his presence at slip and short mid wicket contributed to the pressure. Batting was solid as ever, 28 not out to carry his bat and see the game through.

Dalip - 8
Took a skier of a catch and made it look easy. Played a gem of an innings, under no pressure, to deflate all hopes of the opposition. Played a good mix of conventional and original strokes to make 53. Should try to carry through, especially when chasing small targets.

Prateek - 6
Keeping was decent, although concentration started to flag later in the innings. Seemed like a fitness issue. Batting was decent. Made 12 not out to keep Chucky company at the end and finished the game off with a four.

Rakesh - 5
Did not get to display his wares, as the batsmen ahead of him chased down an easy target. Fielding was decent. He seems to be becoming a better fielder with each game and the captain can trust him with more responsibility in that area.

Atif - 7
Two wickets in the first over he bowled, including a first ball wicket. He has proven that he is a consistent enough bowler to confound the tailenders. Finished with 3 for 22 off 3 overs. Fielding had nothing much to complain about, but needs to get a little quicker in the field.

Paul - 7
An excellent opening spell, that went unnoticed because of the effort at the other end. 6-0-14-1 are pretty good figures while bowling with field restrictions. Did not relieve the pressure to complement Wazza's spell. Also took the last catch to finish the innings off. Would have had another wicket had Warren not dropped a catch he got to.

Tanmay - 6
Another decent bowling effort, 5-0-21-1. His two-face bowling persona, is commendable for its accuracy and will surely bring him wickets. His fielding also helped keep the pressure on.

Warren - 9.5
Took 5 wickets - all bowled in a devastating opening spell. Left the batsmen wafting at thin air with his pace and swing. Clipped the off-mid bail twice, but the coup-de-grace was the yorker that took the middle stump off and sent it flying 10 yards. The opposition had no coming back form there. Took a good running catch in the outfield. Would have had another wicket had Paul not dropped a catch he got to.

Dave - 5
Did not get to dol much, but his fielding in the covers area kept the batsmen on thier toes and there were very few quick singles taken. Keep up the good work.

Alan - 6.5
A fruitless albiet consistent spell from him. The unlcukiest bowler of the day. went past the outside edge umpteen times and the one he did get was not given by the umpire. Still finished with an economy of 2.6. Better luck next time Al.

Coach - 5
Even though he did not have any major active contributions on the field, but his presence helped a lot. He had a lot of posetive input and advice to offer to the captain and the bowlers. On field, he did stop sverything that came to him, did not get a chacne to bowl or bat and he hopes it stays that way.

Result - Titans CC beat Ambassador CC by 9 wickets

Titans Vs Westside Cavaliers

Chucky - 8.5
Played with a lot of maturity to make 73. Made good use of the overs and kept himself focused on the task at hand. Seems to be in good nick, but needs to see the game through more often. Was his usual livewire self in the field. Good performance overall.

Dalip - 2
Out in the first over charging down to a length ball. The slump is getting a little too long, but he has the capability to bounce back. Fielding looked improved, except for a couple of times when he was slow to the ball.

Prateek - 2
LBW to an outswinger, no runs to his name. Keeping was good, except for a missed stumping. Saved a couple of balls down the leg side which could have easily gone for 4. Was instrumental in the only runout in the game.

Tanmay - 5.5
Only 2 runs to his name, as the promotion to 4 did not exactly work out. His bowling and fielding were again up to his high standards. 4 an over on a small ground is pretty good. Had the opposition confused with his pace/spin switch that he continued for 2 overs. Took a tricky catch to remove the dangerous looking opening batsman.

Rakesh - 1.5
Played a couple of stunning strokes, and then fell cheaply playing back to a pitched up delivery. Needs to learn to make use of the days when he is seeing the ball so clearly. Took a good catch on the boundary. Bowling was an atrocious mess. 2 overs for 18 runs with 12 wides, enough said.

Dave - 2
Failed with the bat when the conditions were ideal for him. Did not get a chance with the ball. His fielding and concentration levels have increased a lot. Dave is fast becoming one of the better infield fielders in the side.

Atif - 9.5
Man of the day, not even a discussion needed there. Destroyed the opposition with a 5.2-2-12-5 spell. Used flight, drift and turn beautifully. Took a good return catch. He wasnt done yet. Made a brave and game saving 42. Would have been a 10 today if he had finished his 50 or brought the game home. Great job though.

Warren - 7
A decent opening spell, one that kept the opposition on thier toes. Took a well judged catch in the outfield. His performance of the day was with the bat though. Made a cool and collected 22 to bring the game home. Two backfoot cover drives, stood out in his innings.

Umair - 2
Fielded with a lot of heart and effort. Dropped a chance, which half the players in the side would not even have made into a chance. Needs a little more experience under his belt. Batting was not much to write about, he was probably too defensive considering the situation and did not play his natural game.

Allan - 4
5-1-23-0 is a good bowling effort on the small ground. Induced some edges which did not carry. Batting was dissapointing as he denied Warren the game tieing run and was caught in the deep going for glory.

Coach - 5.5
A touch expensive but effective. His double strike turned the game around. The collapse started in his 3rd over. Coach also had a few close calls that could have gone either way. Dropped a catch at mid wicket. Kept cool and collected to score the 2 runs that were needed to win when he walked in.

Result - Titans CC beat Westside Cavaliers by 1 wicket.

Titans Vs Lauderhill United

Chucky - 6
Did not get a chance to do much, but is one of the best fielders in the side and proved it with a couple of lovely stops and some quick work in the outfield. He works hard in the field and is a natural at any position.

Dalip - 4.5
Very little to do in the field, but could have affected a run out had he moved a little quicker to the ball early on in the game. His throws have gotten a little better, but needs to get quicker in the outfield.

Ruchir - 1
Had a horrid day in the field. Had a hard half-chance fly by him early, then was very slow to move to a lobbed catch offering from the highest scorer and did not make it to the catch. On the same delivery the follow up throw was horribly off-target throw that made it two lives on the same delivery. Had another potential runout chance go begging. He is lanky and athletic guy, and needs to prove his worth on the field.

Prateek - 4
A little shaky behind the stumps, but got better as the day went on. Fumbled a collection that could have been a runout. Had a decent day otherwise.

Rakesh - 3.5
Slow to react to strokes hit past him. The throws from the outfield are a little inconsistent too. This often ends up with ones turning into twos. Needs to prove his worth in the field.

Dave - 5
Decent in the field. He has gotten better with his focus and realization of field positioning.

Tanmay - 8.5
Bowled at 2 an over in a game where the team went for 6.7 an over. Apart from being economical, he was able to create a couple of wicket taking opportunities. He figured out the batsmen and made adjustments better than any other bowler in the day. Made a couple of great stops and kept the batsmen from stealing a single multiple times.

Warren - 5.5
Was a little wayward in parts of his spell. 6-0-31-1 are decent figures for a bowler, but not up to expectations. Bowled a few great deliveries and removed a dangerous-looking opening batsmen. Dropped a chance after doing the hard work of getting to the ball. Ran out a batsman with a dive to the stumps. Acouple of throws in the field were off, but showed that he is a decent infield option too.

Alan - 3.5
Took a good return catch to get his one wicket for the day. Things were not as rosy otherwise, 8.33 economy rate is no where near his best work. Pitched it too far up, too often. The movement is there, the line/length is not. Did not attempt a catch where there might have been one. He will be looked upon to provide improved performances in the coming games.

Paul - 3.5
Off of his game. Bowled a beauty to get rid of his opposite number, but there wasnt much else to cheer. A few decent deliveries were followed by a horrid last over that went for 17 runs. He needs to get back to fitness and form in order to contribute heavily again.

Yasir - 2
Affected a runout from point, but was off for the rest of the game. 8 wides and 4 no balls made him end up with 2-0-25-0, hardly an inspiring performance. Failed to make adjustments to his runup and line and ended up with a very below par performance.

Result Game declared a No-Result(Lauderhill United 155/5)

Titans Vs Islanders

Chucky - 5.5
His 29 at the top was a valuable contribution, although more is expected from him. Got out stuck in the crease to one he should have come out to. One of the most agile fielders in the side. He is quick to chase down wides and edges when needed. His throw from the boundary was a part of the first runout.

Dalip - 2
Although the Master Blaster showed some signs of picking and choosing the balls to hit, he still survived about 10 balls. It is a good sign for the future though. Was a little erratic with his throws, and one of them thrown to the keeper, was wild enough to effect a runout at the bowlers end.

Rakesh - 2
Chipped a ball off his pads straight to square leg. Recent failures from Dalip and him have made the top order look shaky. Dropped a regulation high catch at mid-off off the skippers bowling. Needs to pick himself up and play to his immense potential.

Prateek - 8
Batting was sedate but effective. Got out in the 42nd over, but should have stuck for the last 3 overs and helped get a bigger score for the team and himself. Effected the runout to break the opening partnership with a direct hit at the bowlers end. Had a good day behind the stumps by holding onto 4 catches. Needs to develop his strokes, there was'nt a single four in his batting effort.

Dave - 2
His story was pretty similar to Rakesh's . Had one decent swipe to square leg, but not much else went his way. Stayed back to one that would have hit the top of middle/leg and was given LBW. Dropped a catch at midwicket(in the circle) which can be put down to lack in concentration.

Atif - 1
Horrendous day for Atif. Edged one behind to be out for a duck. Dropped a simple chance, which he seemed to have held onto for a moment, at mid off. Took the catch of the opposing captain and that is the only positive on the highlight reel from him.

Tanmay - 6
Was starting to look good with the bat when he hit one straight to the fielder and set off for a run that was not there. Bowling was tight as usual conceding under 3 an over. He has become a key component of the attack. Wrapped up the tail two wickets in the last over to end with 2-23.

Yasir - 7.5
His batting was all big swings but it did not produce much. Needs to try to watch the ball more. Bowled with a lot of heart and got his nine fiery overs in on the trot. 3-28 are good figures under any conditions. The only concern were the wides and no balls. He is emerging as a good team player and his consistent performance only bodes well for the future.

Warren - 3
The tall quick had a day to forget. He got out to a smart catch on a square drive that he did not get on top of. While his first two overs had some fire, things started to go down from there. His last 6 went at 6 an over bringing his over all figures to just under 5 an over. It is the first time in the season that he has gone wicketless. This should not concern him much as we know he is a class bowler and will come back strong.

Paul - 7.5
Got a few quick runs and stayed not out to push the score to 178. He seems to be enjoying his bowling more every game. 3-23 were the best figures fo the match and were all smartly taken wickets. His line/length stuff with slight variations seems to be working great. The diving and tumpling catch off of his own bowling left an imprint on the mind and the pitch.

Krish - 2.5
He needs to pick his game up, because his colleagues in the bowling department are way ahead of him. Batting was decent as he stayed not out on 3. He bowled alright, but not effectively enough. His strength is line and length and straying from that is going to hurt him. Went for slightly over 6 an over with no wickets. Needs to practice hitting the good line/length spots.

Result - Titans CC(178 for 9) defeated Islanders CC(134 all out) by 44 runs.

Broward United vs Titans

Chucky - 4
Didnt do much wrong in the field, except for a wild throw that could have gotten a runout if it was accurate. The few deliveries he played were played on merit, except for one injudicious pull that he was in no position to play.

Dalip - 6.5
23 runs in no time, no flaws on the field. Took his boundary duties without much complaint. He even let two deliveries go by him when batting. Seems to be learning more about the quiter side of batting. Provided the ideal start to the innings.

Rakesh - 5
Except for one catch that he could have gone for, fielding was decent. Had a couple of good stops in the covers.

Prateek - 5
The glove work was a little shaky. A simple chance went begging due to a mental mistake of wearing too big a helmet. Such a drop might cost a lot in bigger games. Redeemed himself with a sharp diving take off of Krish's bowling. Some takes down the leg side were good, but some simple takes were not taken cleanly.

Dave - 4.5
Not much of note in the field. He did contribute to the skipper's blood pressure by forgetting his fielding position and adjustments.

Atif - 6.5
4-1-6-1 are pretty good figures. When you consider the fact that the opposition wasnt looking for any runs, they look a little less impressive. Took the annoying last wicket though. Needs to practice his variations, coach will be of great help in this regard. Also took a catch off fo Tanmay's bowling.

Warren - 5.5
Granted that he bowled to thier top batsmen, but the overall figures left a little to be desired. The opening spell was menacing, but the wides made it a touch easier for the batsmen. Seemed largely inneffective in his second spell. Needs to learn how to get to the tailenders, maybe practice his yorkers.

Paul - 9
4-25 in 9 overs cannot be argued with. Whoever has the game ball in thier bag, bring it to the next game, we need to sign it for Paul. Bowled very good line and length and kept troubuling the batsmen. A couple of drops off his bowling devoid him of the much deserved 5-for. Has become very adept at pshyching a batsman out. Pulled all the right punches as a skipper. Hats off.

Tanmay - 8
Not sure if there is anyone else who brings more commitment to the field. Easily the best fielder on the ground today. Took a great running and diving catch. Took another simple chance and made a number of good stops. His bowling was accurate and incisive. Created wicket taking opportunities every other delivery. Very economical and effective.

Krish - 7
Took the big wicket of the only batsman who looked like a batsman. Picked another lower order wicket up. Seems to be bowling a good and measured length. He needs to learn a liitle more control though, there were some deliveries on leg and outside that could have been put away by better batsmen. Regardless, he was effective enough to get 2-14.

Umair - 2
A horrendous debut where he dropped two chances, one of which was just begging to be taken. He finally took a relatively tough chance, off the skippers bowling. Seems to be an eager player though, hopefully that last catch helped ease some nerves.

Result - Game abondoned (BUCC - 100 All Out, TCC - 30/0 after 3.4 overs)

Monday, June 9, 2008

Titans Vs St. Bes

Chucky - 4
Got out playing at a wide one down leg. It is his first failure in a league game, hence nothing to worry about. Made 16 runs and rounded the day off with a regulation yet tricky slip catch that was made to look easy. Remains one off the safest pairs of hands on the field.

Dalip - 2
Dropped a hard chance to his left off of Yasir's bowling. He was otherwise unnoticed in the field and given his tendency to throw wildly, that was a good thing. Made just 8 runs in typical fashion with two boundaries and got out trying to guide a ball which he could have smacked.

Rakesh - 4
15 runs, during which he looked good as usual. Got out playing early and scooping one to mid on. Looked a touch rattled by the pace of Jamie, the opening bowler. Bowled decently well in his spell of 4-0-26-1. It was the 11 wides in that spell that did not help at all. Needs to clean that up and be relaxed when approaching the crease to bowl.

Prateek - 6.5
26 hard earned runs. Saw off the threat of Jamie, without letting him take another wicket and contributed to a decent partnership with Dave. Lost his wicket after getting set, needs to convert the start. Was pretty solid behind the stumps.

Dave - 8
While no one on either side even broke into the 30s, Dave made it to 44. Dave was a little nervous to begin his innings (after being hit on the chest by the first ball he faced), but he got over that and went on to mix aggression with some sensible cricket. A decent day in the field, with one possible chance going past him at fine leg. Congrats on the game ball.

Yasir - 7.5
Promoted with the bat to up the ante, but that did not quite work out. Played two nice strokes but was out soon after. Bowling was a different story. 2-23 after 9 overs was as much a match winning performance as any other on the day. Generated good away movement and pretty decent pace. Was sharper in the field than the last outing and should have had a direct hit runout to his name.

Tanmay - 5
Back into the side after a long time and made an immediate difference just by his presence. Batting did not work out and he needs some time to settle back into rhythm. Tanmay is turning out to be a miserly bowler in his new incarnation as as off cutter bowler. Gave away just 11 runs in 4 overs and picked up the last wicket of the game. His fielding was also a standout performance. The skipper can place him anywhere in the field and feel confident.

Paul - 7
4 an over and two important wickets, Paul is really finding his niche as an opening bowler. Complements Wazza well and keeps it tight. The slower ball to get the opening batsman was just genius. Batted decently, but did not up the rate as much as expected. He did make sure that the team batted the full 45 overs.

Warren - 7.5
Looked a little out of sorts while batting and got out to a rather innocuous delivery. Bowled a terrific opening spell with a good amount of pace and movement. The two bowled dismissals stick out in memory. The yorker to the base of leg stump and the big inswinger that sent the middle stump cartwheeling.

Atif - 2
Did not get much of an opportunity to show off his capabilities, but should have made more use of the later overs to get some quick runs. He showed intent but the execution was not there. Atif's fitness is a concern, his approach to the ball is slow and he cramped up towards the later part of the game. Needs to remember to drink a lot of fluids before getting to the game.

Dilshan - 3
One run not out off of the one ball he faced. Smart move to get Paul on strike for the last ball. Dropped an easy chance at mid-on. Needs to remember that his fielding is what will get him into the side, and hence should keep working on it.

Result - Titans CC (194 for 9) defeated St. Bes (136 all out) by 58 runs.

Chucky - 9.5
The only reason he does not get a 10 is that he did not bring the game home. Did everything right. Bowled very well towards the end to pick up a wicket and be economical despite the short boundaries. Took a great one handed catch and had a stumping to his name. The masterpiece was yet to come. 113 peerless runs. A century studded with sixes and fours. Easily the man of the match, although he ended up on the loosing side.

Dalip - 6.5
The score-book reads 66466. Made 28 in 8 balls. The flying start was just what was needed. By his own admission, he should have come off when his wrist was hurting, instead he tried to force a stroke and got stumped off a pace bowler. With the short boundaries, this should have been his day.

Rakesh - 6
Bowled well on his comeback after an expensive first over. Ended with 6-0-40-1 which is decent for the ground. Dropped a relatively simple chance at short third man. Rakesh had 31 well made runs to his name, but a fifty from him would have sealed the game.

Paul - 4
Unlucky bowler with two drops on his bowling. Started well with a wicket in the first over, but things went downhill from there. Pitched a little too far up at times and got punished. Batting was a disappointment. Made 11 runs, but it was a lengthy stay at the crease giving Chucky support that was required.

Prateek - 1
Took a good low catch in the first over and that was the end of the heroics for the day. Dropped a regulation edge behind the stumps. Was taken for 32 runs off of 3 overs. Seemed to have had the batsmen in trouble sometimes, but there was enough loose stuff to relieve the pressure. Was given caught behind on the second ball he faced.

Ruchir - 4
Seems to have improved his fielding and there were no repeats of the embarrassments of the last game. Gave Chucky some support and had a decent partnership with him. The game was ideally suited for him and should have scored more than 17.

Warren - 7
Bowled a very good spell at 6 an over to pick up 3 wickets. Needs to control his wides. Wazza seems to be one of the safest hands on the boundary and he proved that by accepting a simple chance that came his way. Probably should have gone for another catch that fell short of him at mid-off. Scored 5 runs and lost his wicket by hitting a full toss straight to mid wicket.

Dave - 6
Took a good running catch off Wazza's bowling. Bowled pretty well till he went for some stick during his last over. Ended up going at 7 an over which is decent for St. George Park. Made 18 runs, which is better than the four guys who batted ahead of him. Lost his wicket at a crucial point in the game.

Coach - 7.5
A very good bowling performance as he ended up with 9-1-50-3, best figures of the day. He has rebounded very well from the last game. Batted with some gutso and stoic defense to occupy the crease for a good amount of time, but was eventually bowled for 7 runs.

Dilshan - 5.5
Lived up to expectations and seems to be coming along with his batting, despite the duck he scored. Had a couple of good stops and has become a better fielder over the past couple of months.

Josh - 4.5
Took an easy catch, but dropped a slightly tricky chance. He also had a couple of misfields to his credit, but is still one of the quickest guys in the infield. Was not out at 2 and shows signs of developing into an attacking batsman someday.

Result - Leewards Islands CC defeated Titans CC by 14 runs.

Chucky - 8
55 very well made runs. Brought up his 50 with a sweetly timed six over long off. His consistency and stroke play is an example to every one in the top order. Looked solid in defense and attincking strokeplay. Safely pouched a catch on the boundary. One of the more dependable fielders.

Dalip - 2
Got out for 3 by backing up too much and skying it to cover. Fielding was a touch lackadaisical as he let one through to the boundary from right under him and allowed the batsmen to convert a couple of twos into threes. Regardless his throws are one of the strongest in the team and that did earn us a run out.

Rakesh - 6.5
Played back and across the line to a full delivery to get bowled for 7. He came back extremely well with the ball. Bowled at three an over and picked up two wickets. Rakesh bowled a beautiful line and length, it is good to see him not try too hard and just put the ball on the spot. 2-15, great figures.

Paul - 7.5
Tried to steady the innings with a patient knock. Got 17 runs in about 20 overs that he batted and then threw it away when he had his eye in. Bowled a great opening spell, he started off with a bad over but finished with a figures of 9-0-33-0. Had the batsmen in trouble with the ball moving both ways. Very unlucky to not get a wicket.

Prateek - 6.5
A performance very similar to Rakesh's. Adjudged LBW to one going down leg, needs to learn to keep the pad away from the ball. Bowled with good flight and turn to end up with 2-14. Needs to work on bowling to left handers. Was solid with the gloves, dropped a hard chance after doing the hard work of getting to the ball.

Ruchir - 2
Looked good for a little bit but then was runout in a mix up with Paul. Two drops of relatively easy catches in the field were a disappointment. Those could have been game changing. He is agile in the field and will surely redeem himself.

Atif - 2
Got hurt early in his innings and scored 4 runs before throwing his wicket away. He was not able to repeat of last week's bowling performance. Just got one over to bowl and made no impact with the ball.

Sahel - 2
Lived up to 3-ball reputation by being bowled off the pads on the third ball he faced. Hogged Atif's catch and took it. He was getting great swing but had some problem controlling it. Bowled a decent spell till he bowled a costly last over. 5-0-45-0, not ideal send off figures.

Coach - 3
8 runs not out, and looked to play the entire set of overs out, but ran out of partners. His bowling was off today. Dragged a couple balls short and was taken for a few runs. 3-0-25-0. He was a shadow of himself, expect a much better performance in the upcoming games.

Dilshan - 3
Played down the wrong line to get bowled for a duck. Seems to be bringing the bat down straight though. Had a couple of bad moments in the field and at the same time a couple of good saves. Needs to work on his fielding.

Gowtham - 3
He was bowled for a duck, playing across the line. Needs to get closer to the ball, rather than backing up. His fielding was a little disappointing, primarily the getting to the ball part, it can result in him giving up a few extra runs in the field. His throws are strong though, and had a direct hit to his credit too.

Result - Ambassador SC (150 for 5) beat Titans CC(149 all out) by 5 wickets.

Titans Vs Pakistan CC

Prateek - 3
Apart from the dropped catch off Alan, had a pretty decent day behind the stumps. Effected two runouts and had some good takes down the leg side. Batting was a complete failure when it was needed most. Got out LBW for a duck in the first over when a good opening partnership was needed.

Dalip - 8
Excellent display of power hitting (Ken Singh wanted to go home after his first spell... Dalip can take credit). 59 quick runs to set the game up perfectly. Hope we see many more of these during the season. Went relatively unnoticed in the field, hence no blemishes on that part.

Rakesh - 7
Unnoticed in the field, although he does seem to be getting a little quicker in the outfield. Batted beautifully for his 32. Rakesh played some excellent strokes, especially a backfoot cover drive that screamed tot he boundary. He contributed to a 93 runs partnership with Dalip. The chase set up perfectly by these two.

Paul - 4
Got out playing a nothing stroke for 1 run. Team needed his presence to guide the chase and play 40-45 overs. His bowling seems to be coming back into its own. He started off shaky against two very well set batsmen. He came back very strong, along with Atif, to restrict Pakistan to only 62 runs in the last session.

Warren - 6
Could have gotten a few more runs but got out shouldering arms to a very deceptive spinner. Bowled a decent opening spell and got results when he came back for his second spell too. Needs to control the big inswingers, maybe by bowling wider off the crease. Took a pretty good catch in the outfield and almost effected a couple of runouts.

Atif - 7
Hit two fours and then chipped an innocuous delivery straight to cover. Bowled a spell that kept getting better as it progressed. First couple of overs were expensive, but he came back strong. Ended up with 4-46 which included two of the highest scorers. He needs to remember to flight the ball. Took an excellent return catch for one of his wickets.

Sahel - 6
Got rid of the dangerous Kashif first ball. Bowled a decent spell, but was taken apart in a couple of overs by the big hitting Shabir, he seemed to bowling well in general though. Was his usual energetic self in the field and also effected a runout. Remained not out with 18 runs (including a six over mid wicket) and had wnother batsmen stuck around, could have pulled this through.

Dave - 2
A disappointing day for Dave, but one where he must have learnt a lot. Did not move early enough for a catch at the boundary. Had an off day with the ball. He also got a first ball duck. Every one has bad days, it is good to get them out of the way early in the season.

Alan - 8
Seemed to be bowling in a different game than the one that was being played. When most of his peers went for 6 an over and more, Alan bowled his 9 on the trot at 4.33 and took 1 wicket( should have had two, but the over zealous keeper gloved the ball away from first slip). Excellent performance with the ball, seems to be getting better in the field, had a tough chance at the boundary that he could have taken. Batting was a failure, but it should never have gotten to him coming out to bat.

Josh - 5
Almost lived up to expectations in the field. Had one inconsequential misfield and a couple of errant throws. He did effect the first wicket in terms of a runout. Good piece of work there. Made 4 runs, in the way of a boundary, and then was bowled around his legs. He has a keen eye and is learning the game pretty quickly.
